Lights

The "Lights" resource includes all lights and sockets that are connected to the Hue Bridge and can be used with "all 4 hue". You can find all connected lights in the section "Lights" in the app.

Functions for a selected light

The following options are available for controlling a selected light.

Turn on and off

Use the switch control to turn a light on or off. After switching on a light, the light element is displayed with the currently specified color and brightness.

Change brightness

You can use the slider to control the brightness of the light. The brightness of the displayed light element is adjusted accordingly.

Change color

You can adjust the color of the light via the context menu. Please note that not all lights support color adjustment and therefore the color command may not be applicable to the selected light.

Change color gradient

This function can be used to define a color gradient for Hue gradient lights. The color gradient consists of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 colors, depending on the type of light. This feature is only available for Hue Bridges with current firmware.

Change color temperature

You can use the context menu to adjust the color temperature of the light. Please note that not all lights support color temperature adjustment and therefore the color temperature command may not be applicable to the selected light.

Rename

You can use the context menu to edit the description of the light.

Use colorloop

You can turn a color loop on or off using the context menu. This color loop is programmed into the respective light, i.e. no colors can be specified. Since this color loop runs independently in the selected light, the smartphone does not have to be connected to the Hue Bridge for this effect.

Effects

Some lights offer internal special effects such as candlelight or fire. If the selected light supports one of these effects, the available effects can be displayed via this context menu item. After activating an effect, a small "E" will appear in the light's icon. Attention: An activated effect will continue to be executed after a light has been switched off and on until it is manually deactivated. If a light does not support any effects or if your Hue Bridge firmware is too old, this entry will not be displayed in the context menu.

Internal identification

Each light is assigned an internal identification in the form of a number. This assignment is done by the Hue Bridge when creating the group. You can use the context menu to display the identification.

Delete

You can delete a light via the context menu. Please use this function with care, because the light will be deleted on the Hue Bridge.

General function

You can also call up other functions using the buttons above the list or via the main menu. The main menu can be found in the title bar on the right by clicking on the icon with the three dots.

Search for new lights

If you want to pair a new light with the Hue Bridge, bring the light into the corresponding pairing state (see instructions) and select this function from the main menu.

Activate touchlink

Some older lights can only be paired with the Hue Bridge via Touchlink. To turn on Touchlink, select this feature. You can find more information about Touchlink on the Internet.

Group by rooms

The lights can either be displayed in a linear list, or they can be grouped according to rooms, zones and lightgroups. You can choose your preferred view.
